IT Systems Engineer

We are recruiting a Warehouse Systems Engineer to join the technical team at one of the country's largest retail operators. You will be a key part of the technical service function at their flagship operations site, based in Bradford working 42 hours per week on a panama shift pattern (0600-1800-0600). Joining an existing technical team of around 60, you will be entering an extremely knowledgeable environment with a proven track-record for providing excellent technical training.

You will monitor and manage system software and hardware. You will be responsible for identifying, analysing and root-cause-analysis of systems, IT and Software issues. You will deploy software updates and administer change control and management of systems. The role will also require the software engineer to commission software and complete integration testing.

Key Skills: Unix/Linux, Oracle, Command Line Scripting, SQL, Python, * Strong knowledge of Linux OS

• In depth understanding of command scripts - CLI
• Hands on Database experience (oracle)
• Understanding of programming concepts
• Experience of hardware build and maintenance
• Debugging

Desirable non-essential skills:

• PL/SQL programming
• Knowledge of C, C++ and Java
