Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Manual Tester to ensure the quality and reliability of software applications through rigorous testing processes. The ideal candidate will work closely with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to identify defects, validate functionality, and ensure that applications meet business and technical requirements.
Job Description (Main Duties and Responsibilities): Analyze business, functional, and technical requirements to design detailed test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts. Execute manual test cases across web, desktop, mobile, and API-based applications. Perform end-to-end testing of applications, including front-end UI and back-end data validation. Identify, log, prioritize, and track defects using defect management tools and ensure timely resolution. Conduct multiple testing types including Functional Testing, Regression Testing, Integration Testing, System Testing, Smoke Testing, Sanity Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Perform exploratory testing to uncover hidden defects and usability issues. Validate UI/UX consistency, responsiveness, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility. Conduct database testing by validating data integrity, consistency, and accuracy using SQL queries. Test APIs, web services (REST/SOAP), and integrations using tools like Postman or similar. Participate in requirement analysis and design discussions to ensure testability and coverage. Collaborate with developers to understand system architecture, workflows, and defect root causes. Prepare and maintain detailed test documentation including test plans, test cases, RTMs (Requirement Traceability Matrices), and test execution reports. Support system integration testing and validate data flow across multiple systems. Assist in UAT planning, coordination, and execution with business stakeholders. Perform environment validation, build verification testing, and release readiness checks. Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, standards, and methodologies. Ensure adherence to quality standards, compliance requirements, and testing best practices. Conduct risk-based testing and prioritize testing efforts effectively. Support post-release validation and production issue analysis.
Requirements
(The candidate must demonstrate these in all stages of assessment) Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in Manual Testing. Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Proven experience in designing and executing comprehensive test cases and test strategies. Strong knowledge of Functional, Regression, Integration, System, and UAT Testing Strong knowledge of Black-box and White-box testing techniques, Test case design techniques (Boundary Value Analysis, Equivalence Partitioning, Decision Tables, State Transition Testing) Hands-on experience with defect tracking and test management tools Jira, Bugzilla, Azure DevOps, TestRail, HP ALM (Quality Center) Solid understanding of SQL (joins, queries, data validation, database testing), Relational databases (MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle) Experience with API testing using Postman, Swagger, or similar tools, Web services testing (REST & SOAP), JSON/XML validation Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure Pipelines), Version control systems (Git, Bitbucket) Basic knowledge of Automation tools (Selenium, Cypress), Programming/scripting languages (Java, Python, JavaScript), Performance testing tools (JMeter - basic understanding) Experience in Cross-browser and cross-device testing, Mobile testing (Android/iOS platforms) Accessibility testing (WCAG standards - basic awareness) Understanding of Web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), Microservices architecture and distributed systems Cloud-based applications (AWS/Azure - basic exposure) Familiarity with Security testing concepts (OWASP basics), Logging and monitoring tools (Splunk, Kibana - optional)
