Engineer high-quality microservices using Quarkus, Spring Boot, RESTful patterns, SOAP services, and evolving microservice build frameworks.

Develop secure, performant, and scalable applications using Java, NodeJS, Hibernate, Apache, and industry-endorsed design patterns.

Build intuitive, resilient UI experiences using ReactJS, Redux, Webpack, HTML5, ES6, Ajax, jQuery, Bootstrap, and modern JavaScript engineering practices.
Deliver High-Quality, Testable, and Secure Solutions

Apply hands-on engineering practices including pair programming, TDD, BDD, reusable frameworks, and automated quality gates.

Implement advanced authentication and authorisation patterns: SSO, OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0, IDP integration, token flows, secure API design, and mobile SDK integration aligned to LBG standards.
Drive Modern DevOps, Automation & Platform Excellence

Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Harness, Maven, GitHub, Git, IntelliJ/Eclipse, and modern automation tooling.

Work with Docker, Kubernetes, and serverless patterns to design scalable deployment architectures across Lloyds cloud environments.

Use Dynatrace, Playwright, Lighthouse, Gatling, and other monitoring/quality frameworks to ensure robust performance and observability.
Shape the Future of AI Driven Engineering

Contribute to agentic AI initiatives across BTB and BCB-supporting AI-driven automation, developer-assist tools, orchestration agents, and end-to-end intelligent workflows.

Use GitHub Copilot, Codex/Sonnet, and other AI-assisted tooling for accelerated coding, documentation, and debugging.

Collaborate with data, platform, and product teams to embed AI-enabled capabilities into customer-facing journeys and backend services.
Engineer for Mission Critical Banking Domains
- Build and optimise services across core BTB/BCB capabilities including Accounts, Deposits, Business Debit, Payments, Cash Management, and Merchant Services.
Lead by Example in Engineering Excellence

Provide technical leadership across squads-shaping architecture, promoting modern engineering mindset, and mentoring colleagues.

Participate in design reviews, threat modelling, dependency mapping, and cross-lab engineering governance.
Requirements

Work with the product and engineering leads to achieve the vision and customer outcomes for your Lab, through writing well-factored and tested code. Be curious about technology and understanding how things work. You'll influence positively demonstrating the right values and behaviours as we improve how we deliver., * Essential, mature expertise in Quarkus, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, SOAP services, and evolving microservice build patterns.

Modern JavaScript proficiency: ReactJS, Redux, Webpack, HTML5, DHTML, ES6, Ajax, jQuery, Bootstrap.

Practical experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Serverless architectures.

Mature capability with DevOps tooling: Harness CI/CD, Maven, Git, Eclipse, IntelliJ, and modern CI/CD automation practices.

Handson engineering practices including Pair Programming, TDD, BDD, and reusable build frameworks.

Demonstrated experience with Agentic AI: AI and data tooling, crossplatform collaboration, and contributing to AIdriven agent development.

Advanced capability in Authentication and authorisation patterns: SSO, OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0, IDP integration, token issuance, secure API patterns, and mobile

Proficiency with GitHub Copilot, Codex/Sonet, and AIassisted code generation, documentation, and debugging.

Mature use of tools/frameworks: Dynatrace, Playwright, Lighthouse, Gatling.

Deep experience in cash management and payment products, especially Accounts, Deposits, Business Debit, and Merchant Services.
