Job description
We are looking for a BI Analyst to join our Business Intelligence team within the Commercial function.
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality reporting and insight that supports commercial performance and decision-making across the business. Working closely with senior team members and stakeholders, you will help ensure data is accurate, accessible and used effectively.
The role combines structured reporting with ad-hoc analysis, giving you exposure to a wide range of business areas including pricing, operations and performance. You will work across tools such as Microsoft Fabric, Power BI and Excel, with ongoing support to develop your technical and analytical skills.
This role is well suited to someone who is naturally curious, detail-oriented and keen to develop their capability in data and analytics.
The day-to-day responsibilities will involve:
- Maintaining, enhancing and developing reports using tools such as MySQL, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI and Excel
- Producing regular reporting outputs, ensuring accuracy, consistency and adherence to internal, external and regulatory deadlines
- Carrying out ad-hoc analysis to support business questions and provide meaningful insight
- Working with data from multiple sources, ensuring it is accurate, structured and fit for purpose
- Collaborating with stakeholders across Commercial and the wider business to understand requirements and deliver effective reporting and analysis
- Identifying opportunities to improve reporting processes, data quality and efficiency
- Challenging existing processes and suggesting improvements to data collection, transformation and reporting approaches
Requirements
- Experience in an analytical, reporting, or business intelligence role
- Degree or equivalent in a STEM or numerical/analytical discipline
- Strong skills in working with data, Excel, and at least one query/programming language (e.g. SQL, Python)
- Knowledge of data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Excellent analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to communicate insights clearly
- Proactive, collaborative team player with a willingness to learn and develop
- (Desirable: Experience in the energy/utilities sector, building dashboards, using cloud-based platforms, or exposure to data modelling/structured datasets)
