Job description
At Lam, as an EH&S Engineer, you're instrumental in developing, implementing, and monitoring environmental safety programs and policies. Ensuring compliance with regulations, you'll perform safety inspections, conduct trainings, and oversee hazardous waste vendors and processes. Your expertise spans to life safety, workplace ergonomics, and monitoring industrial health compliance. Acting as a liaison with regulatory agencies you'll not only stay current but also reinforce Lam's commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
What You'll Do
- Develops, monitors and supports EHS functions to ensure compliance and continuous improvement. Works collaboratively with stakeholders, teammates, and other support resources.
- Leads projects to address EHS AOP objectives.
- Owns EHS programs that are subject to significant change, re-development, or improvement.
- Capable of motivating stakeholders to meet commitments towards EHS objectives.
- Capable of project planning, prioritization and achievement to goals and schedule.
- Makes interpretations to EHS regulations and protocols in alignment with EHS leadership.
- Decides and aligns on methods for implementing EHS initiatives and the parameters of those initiatives.
- Accountable to the objectives owned by the function and applicable area.
- Manages environmental permits for air, wastewater, stormwater, etc. manages reporting, permit compliance, and regulatory inspections.
- Manage the chemical safety and hygiene plan, including all aspects related to chemical management, chemical exposure monitoring, exposure threshold limit determinations, and risk/assessment mitigation., Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.

Requirements
- Technical education on technical Highschool (HTL) or equivalent
- Safety degree, experience, and certifications are required:
- Minimum 5 year's experience in workplace safety (Safety officer - Sicherheitsvertrauensperson)
- Certified as workplace safety specialist (Sicherheitsfachkraft) according Austrian law
- Familiar with quality management and ISO standards (9001, 14001, 27001, 45001)
- Good knowledge of EHS regulations, codes, guidelines, and agencies
- Very good German and English communication skills
- Familiarity with working in a semiconductor laboratory and on semiconductor equipment
- Very good knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), * Education as Environmental Engineer (Umweltbeauftragter)
- Experience working in a collaborative and matrixed environment with diverse teams, semiconductor customers, and/or partners
- Experience and certifications as apprentice trainee
Benefits & conditions
This position is subject to the Austrian Collective Bargaining Agreement for Employees in the Metal Technology Industry ( ) in occupation group E. A higher payment is negotiable depending on education, expertise and skills. The monthly salary is paid 14 times per year.
