Job description
- Serial development responsible engineer for metal parts related to BIW, body structures and closure systems
- Engineering responsibility for Structure / Closure parts (such as Tailgate, hood, Door panel, floor, roof, side outer, etc.) development from 1st concept through Start of Production (SOP) and life cycles, targeting optimizations in cost, weight, performance, design, materials, customer usage, assembly and part quality
- CAD creation by yourself (CATIA) & optimized engineering development considering cost, weight and performance
- Join production plant trails (Korea & EU) to check tool & part developments to solve quality and assembly issues
- Report European body innovations through your solid network of industry experts, suppliers, conferences, start-ups & institute visits and judge these solutions on cost, weight, performance towards Hyundai management
- Continuously report the progress of your part developments to EU/Korean management as well as the production plants
Requirements
- Solid experience as body/closure part engineer at an automotive OEM from 1st design reviews through Start of Production, continuously weighing technical parameters, creating CAD models & reporting results
- Education: Automotive or Mechanical Engineering degree with minimum of 3 years of development experience for BIW, structure or closure parts at an automotive OEM, deep know-how about automotive requirements and R&D processes
- Experience in serial part developments including design reviews, decision meetings, quality reviews and status reporting
- Excellent market knowledge of body technologies related to materials, processes, supply chains and OEM requirements
- Strong pro-active attitude and innovative mind with a strategic, organized, but very flexible working style
- Analytical thinker with clear, output driven communication and strong deadline driven performance
- Solid CATIA V5 skills & sound knowledge of MS Office, drawing release/BOM software, as engineering role, not modeler
- Willing to travel frequently, good level of English in speech and writing, in possession
