Job description
We are looking for a hands-on Hardware Engineer to join our core team. Our sensor nodes span radar, RF, cameras, acoustics, and edge compute - all packed into a single weatherproof enclosure., * Mechanical Design & Prototyping: CAD design (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or equivalent) of enclosures, mounting systems, and internal layouts. Rapid iteration through FDM/SLA 3D printing, with an eye on IP65+ weatherproofing, thermal management, and field serviceability.
- System Architecture & Integration: Defining the power budget and thermal architecture for multi-sensor edge nodes. Coordinating sensor interfaces (USB, CSI, SPI, GigE) with the software team and ensuring clean integration with the NVIDIA Jetson compute stack.
- Manufacturing Readiness: Owning the BOM, coordinating with PCB/EMS partners for custom carrier boards, managing component sourcing and lead times, and driving the path from prototype to low-volume production.
Requirements
- Prototyping Speed: You can take an idea from sketch to physical prototype in days, not months. You are comfortable with 3D printing, hand tools, and basic bench equipment.
- CAD Proficiency: You work fluently in at least one professional CAD tool and can produce manufacturing-ready models.
- Sensor & Electronics Literacy: You can read datasheets, understand interface protocols (SPI, I²C, UART, MIPI CSI), and navigate Mouser/DigiKey to spec and source components.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with enclosure design for outdoor / harsh-environment deployment (IP-rated, vibration, temperature extremes).
- Background in radar, RF, or electro-optical sensor systems.
- Exposure to NVIDIA Jetson or similar embedded AI compute platforms.
- PCB design skills (KiCad, Altium) - even basic schematic capture and layout.
- Experience working with EMS partners and managing low-volume manufacturing.
- A background in robotics, autonomous vehicles, or aerospace.
- A history of tinkering - personal projects, drones, maker spaces, hackathons.
Benefits & conditions
- Build from the ground up: Shape the physical product and technical DNA of a frontier resilience company.
- Work with cutting-edge tools: Access to bleeding-edge sensing systems, simulation environments, and prototyping equipment.
- Equity upside: Competitive compensation and meaningful ownership in Aegiron's success.
- Impact: Build the hardware platform that will redefine European critical infrastructure protection.
About the company
