Job description
We are seeking a Junior Backend Engineer (m/f/x) to join our team of innovators. In this role, you will contribute to building backend services and solutions that address real-world problems. You'll work closely with experienced engineers, learning from them while developing your own skills.
You'll be part of a collaborative team that values knowledge sharing, continuous learning, and practical problem-solving. We're looking for someone who is curious, motivated to grow, and eager to take on new challenges. As part of the team, you'll contribute to our engineering culture by bringing your ideas, asking questions, and supporting others.
Your Impact
- You'll work in a cross-functional platform team to develop backend services and automation that support our products for customers and internal users
- You'll contribute to the development lifecycle by implementing features, fixing bugs, and improving existing systems with guidance from more experienced engineers
- You'll participate in discussions about customer problems and product improvements, sharing your ideas and learning from others
- You'll collaborate with Backend, DevOps, and Data Engineers across teams to build reliable and scalable solutions
- You'll learn and apply best practices in backend development, testing, and system design
- You'll help maintain a clean and consistent codebase by following team standards and participating in code reviews
Requirements
- Work / internship experience writing production code in Python and/or Java (Spring Boot)
- Basic understanding of backend development concepts (APIs, services, data handling)
- Exposure to at least one database technology (SQL or NoSQL) and a willingness to learn more
- Hands-on exposure to GenAI technologies (e.g., working with LLM APIs, prompt design, or frameworks like LangChain), and willingness to deepen this expertise
- Familiarity with cloud environments (preferably AWS) is a plus, but not required
- Strong willingness to learn and grow, and openness to supporting other domains like Frontend, Data Engineering, or DevOps
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team
- A problem-solving mindset and curiosity to understand how systems work
- A proactive attitude and eagerness to take ownership of small tasks and improve over time
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and ask for help when needed
