Job description

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to join our team at Orexis. The Quality Assurance Technician will play a crucial role in monitoring and maintaining the quality and safety of food products manufactured on site., * Train and supervise QA team members, providing guidance and support to maintain a high standard of performance.

  • Coordinate the work of the QAs so allocated tasks are completed and can be completed to the standard required.
  • Ensure good performance by QAs by mentoring training setting expectations, providing accountability and performance evaluation.
  • Assist in the coordination of testing involving swabbing, finished product and the appropriate release and hold programs
  • Analyse the data from all workstreams within the QA team to ensure clear, concise reporting is available for the site Technical Manager to fully understand the progression and performance against the site Quality KPIs.
  • Ensure that the QA team fully manage and control non-conforming finished product, raw materials and packaging, ensuring all work streams are carried out to ensure that all non-conforming products are adequately held, investigated and released.
  • Make proactive recommendations and offering / presenting solutions for the QM to improve quality and work efficiency.
  • Completion of KPI monitoring documentation for the group reporting
  • Assist in the implementation of policies, procedures and quality system which support site quality standards
  • To conduct factory audits, traceability and mass balance audits, including mock recall exercise as per schedule
  • Ensure availability of factory specs and QAS online for both existing and new product launches. Also ensure the correct label is generated and available for new launches on time.

  • A natural interest in food & food production
  • Internal audit training
  • HACCP training to minimum level 3
  • Intermediate food hygiene
  • Experience in Thermal Processing is desired
