Working Patterns and location - This is a hybrid role with 1-2 days per week on site. Key responsibilities Monitor and maintain Oracle database environments to ensure stability and performance Diagnose and resolve database issues, including performance bottlenecks and failures Provide support for incidents, troubleshooting and root cause analysis Perform database performance tuning (queries, indexing, execution plans) Support PL/SQL code by identifying issues and suggesting improvements Manage backups, recovery, and data integrity using tools like RMAN Work closely with development and infrastructure teams to support releases and changes Maintain documentation and follow processes in line with secure/public sector environments Support Oracle systems hosted on cloud platforms (e.g. AWS) or on-premise Ensure security, access control, and compliance standards are met Skills & experience Strong expertise in Oracle RDBMS, with a focus on performance analysis and tuning using tools such as AWR, ASH and execution plans Proven ability to work collaboratively within development and test teams, supporting end-to-end delivery Deep knowledge of PL/SQL, including writing, optimising and troubleshooting complex code Experience operating and supporting Oracle databases within Amazon Web Services (IaaS) environments, Background working on large, complex, multi-supplier programmes, ideally within secure or public
