Job description
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for all activities that contribute to ensuring the availability, resilience, security, and performance of Yamaha Motor Europe's WAN and LAN environments and related network infrastructure, in line with agreed service levels. This enables users of Yamaha Motor Europe, European distributor organizations, and where applicable third parties to reliably access Yamaha's business applications and office automation services.
You will work in an international team with a passion for technology. The security/networking team consists of 5 colleagues, and we are in daily contact with other infrastructure teams. The full infrastructure team consists of 35 people. This role plays a key part in strengthening Yamaha's network security posture and regulatory compliance, including alignment with NIS2 requirements for resilience, risk management, and incident preparedness.
Your responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain Yamaha's network infrastructure (on premise & in the cloud).
- Design, operate, and continuously improve secure and resilient network architectures in line with NIS2 and Zero Trust principles.
- Focus on automating device configurations and security controls using Ansible.
- Keep network devices and security components up to date, including lifecycle and vulnerability remediation.
- Maintain and regularly review firewall and security policies (this is a big part of the job).
- Conduct LAN/WAN analysis to ensure optimal performance, availability, and fault tolerance.
- Proactively identify network related security risks and contribute to risk mitigation measures required under NIS2.
- Support security incident response, including network containment, forensic support, and post incident improvements.
- Evaluate interrelationships between systems, identify how changes may affect security, availability, and compliance, and implement improvements where necessary.
- Collaborate with Information Security, SOC, and audit stakeholders to support compliance, evidence gathering, and audits related to NIS2 and internal security standards., Yamaha Motor Europe is responsible for coordinating the marketing and sales activities of our products in the European market, mainly: Yamaha motorcycles, scooters, marine engines, personal watercraft vehicles, boats, 4-wheeled all terrain and side-by-side vehicles (ATVs/SSVs), lightweight vehicles (golf cars, personal and commercial vehicles).
Requirements
- 802.1X Network Access Control (NAC) using Aruba ClearPass.
- Enterprise Wi-Fi, HPE Aruba preferred.
- Enterprise Load balancing, Citrix NetScaler / ADC preferred.
- Enterprise Firewalling, Check Point preferred.
- Zscaler (Zia, ZPA).
- Enterprise Routing & Switching.
- Zero trust and micro-segmenting., * Be proactive and take ownership.
- Be a team player.
- Be concise and clear in communication.
- Be able to independently manage network related projects.
- Be available and manage expectations.
- Work in a complex, international environment.
- Be critical in a constructive way, and voice opportunities for improvement.
What do you bring?
- Bachelor level through experience or education in business or IT.
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in a similar function.
- Ability to learn and adapt to an ever-changing technical environment.
- Good analytical thinking.
- Ability to investigate and resolve infrastructure incidents in a self-sufficient way.
- Business level English (any other languages are a pre).
- Available for 40 hours per week.
- Willingness to travel inside Europe.
