Job description
As the company's data platform team, we have a big lever: we help shape how the whole organization works with data. You'll contribute to building a platform that empowers data engineers and domain teams with paved paths , self-service capabilities , and smart guardrails -and you'll help us put data mesh practices into action in a pragmatic way.
The role also spans the operational side: from IaC and CI/CD to observability, reliability, and cost-aware operations . In short, you'll turn platform ideas into services people can trust in production.
As a team, we believe our best work happens when we share context early, write decisions down, communicate clearly, and challenge ideas respectfully. We're building a team where reliability is shared, learning and curiosity are encouraged, and different perspectives and working styles are welcome-so everyone can do their best work (and enjoy the ride while we're at it).
What you'll do
- Design, build, and evolve a resilient, future-proof cloud data platform that enables internal teams to produce and consume high-quality data products.
- Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and Analytics to understand needs and deliver platform capabilities that make their work easier.
- Drive operational excellence by integrating monitoring, alerting, FinOps, and observability best practices into all platform components to ensure reliable and efficient operations.
- Help us move faster on AI readiness by enabling platform integrations for AI use cases and supporting LLM-ready data (quality, governance, privacy, evolution).
- Shape the future of our data platform by contributing to architecture discussions and code reviews, and influencing key technical decisions.
- Raise our standards by standardizing services and tooling, and producing clear documentation and communication that help teams produce and consume data products through consistent self-service paths.
Requirements
- You have experience building scalable, reliable data solutions and bring a platform mindset -you enjoy building services, integrations, and developer tools for internal customers.
- You have solid programming skills in a JVM language or Python , and you're comfortable with SQL .
- You know cloud fundamentals and have hands-on experience (we work with GCP , e.g., BigQuery, Dataproc, Cloud Run, IAM).
- You have hands-on experience with infrastructure and operations practices and tooling-e.g., IaC (Terraform) , CI/CD (GitHub Actions) -and operating services reliably in production.
- You bring a strong data quality & governance mindset (schema evolution, data quality checks, data contracts, metadata, access control) to make data trustworthy by default.
- You bring AI literacy and curiosity , ideally with exposure to app development and LLM integration patterns (e.g., RAG, vector stores, MCP) and preparing LLM-ready datasets .
- Nice to have: experience building internal developer tooling (e.g., portals, CLIs/SDKs, or UIs) with a focus on making platform capabilities easy to discover and use.
Interview accommodations: If you need any reasonable accommodations during the interview process, please let us know-we'll do our best to make it work.
