In this role, you'll take on a key responsibility in designing, building, and operating scalable, secure, and automated systems that power one of the world's leading ticketing and live entertainment platforms. As part of our newly reorganized platform team, you'll help define EVENTIM's cloud engineering strategy by applying modern DevOps practices and collaborating closely with your colleagues in an agile environment.
What to expect
- Design, build, and maintain AWS-based infrastructure for EVENTIM's application and data platforms
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform/OpenTofu to ensure consistent, secure, and repeatable deployments
- Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
- Operate observability stacks (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana) to ensure platform reliability and performance
- Collaborate closely with application, data, and security teams to drive scalability, automation, and compliance
- Advance containerization and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes (Amazon EKS)
- Support incident response and proactive platform improvements
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field - or equivalent professional experience
- At least 5 years of professional hands-on experience with AWS, including EC2, EKS, RDS, S3, IAM, Lambda, VPC and Transit Gateway
- Proven expertise with Terraform/OpenTofu and IaC principles
- Experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps workflows (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline)
- Solid knowledge of Linux, networking, and cloud security fundamentals
- Hands-on with Docker and Kubernetes/EKS
- Scripting proficiency in Bash or Python
- Strong communication skills and an agile, collaborative mindset in cross-functional teams
- Very good German and English language skills
Nice to have
- Experience with ArgoCD, AWS CDK, or serverless architectures
- Knowledge of cost optimization and FinOps practices on AWS
