Job description
Defend the Core: We are looking for an IT Security Engineer (m/w/d)
Are you tired of just writing security policies that end up in a drawer? Do you want to build actual fortresses and hunt down threats before they can do any damage? Then you belong right here.
We are recruiting on behalf of our renowned client to find a true defender of the digital realm. Cyber threats are evolving every day, and we need someone who stays one step ahead. As an IT Security Engineer (m/w/d), you won't just be ticking compliance boxes; you will be the shield that protects sophisticated, critical IT infrastructures from modern attacks.
At Expert Select GmbH, we don't believe in empty corporate buzzwords. We connect top tech talent with real opportunities-fair, transparent, and straight to the point., Your day-to-day work is anything but monotonous. You are the bridge between strategy and hands-on technical execution:
- ️ Architecture & Defense: You design, implement, and upgrade technical security measures across network, server, endpoint, and cloud environments.
- Threat Hunting: You actively monitor system activities and network traffic (SIEM/SOC) to detect anomalies and shut down potential breaches.
- Vulnerability Management: You conduct pentests and vulnerability assessments to find the weak spots before the bad guys do.
- Identity & Access: You manage IAM mechanisms and ensure secure authentication without completely frustrating the end-users.
- Secure by Design: You collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to integrate secure configurations right from the start of new projects.
- Incident Response: When the alarm bells ring, you coordinate the response, neutralize the threat, and ensure it doesn't happen again.
Requirements
- A degree in Computer Science or InfoSec is great, but proven, hands-on experience in security engineering is what really counts.
- Deep understanding of modern attack vectors, risk management, and the latest security standards.
- Strong expertise in network security, firewalls, encryption, and endpoint protection.
- ️ Familiarity with security monitoring tools and incident response methodologies.
- ️ Communication: You can explain complex security risks to both deep-tech engineers and non-technical management.
- An analytical, structured approach: Even when an incident occurs and the pressure is high, you keep a cool head and execute your plan.
Benefits & conditions
- Competitive Salary: An attractive, transparent compensation package that reflects your true expertise.
- Reliable Extras: Holiday pay and a seasonal year-end bonus are firmly budgeted for you.
- Future Proofing: Voluntary capital-forming benefits to support your long-term financial goals.
- Fair Bonuses: Assignment-related bonuses to reward your flexibility and dedication.
- Real Perspective: High likelihood of a permanent takeover by the client-we want you to build a legacy, not just fill a gap.
- Stay Sharp: Internal training and professional development to keep your skills up to date with the latest threat landscapes.
- Team & Perks: Discounts at cinemas, gyms, and streaming services, plus awesome team events to unwind after a hard day of defending the network.
