Job description
Join our team as a Platform Engineer/Infrastructure Engineer, delivering secure, reliable, and high-performing infrastructure services that support critical business operations. You'll support on-premise and cloud platforms, ensuring they remain stable, scalable, and compliant. Working closely with development, security, and third-party vendors, you will maintain and enhance infrastructure services, drive continuous improvement, and play a key role in disaster recovery and resilience planning., * Manage and maintain on-premise and cloud infrastructure including servers, storage, virtualisation technologies, and backup & recovery services
- Administer platforms across UNIX, Windows, VMware, and cloud environments (Azure/AWS)
- Support private, hybrid, and public cloud storage technologies (Block/File/Object)
- Ensure security, performance, stability, and capacity across all platform services
- Monitor platform performance and resolve system issues proactively
Platform Engineering & Delivery
- Undertake the administration, configuration, and troubleshooting of infrastructure platforms
- Provide technical guidance on infrastructure components for IT projects
- Work with development, security, and digital teams on enhancements, improvements, and platform changes
- Support disaster recovery planning and resilience improvements
Governance, Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure alignment with HSE, cyber security, and compliance requirements
- Create and maintain operational documentation: processes, procedures, design, config, and support manuals
- Maintain asset inventories and support adherence to enterprise technology standards
- Support ITSM processes, ensuring effective controls and service levels
Vendor, Stakeholder & Team Collaboration
- Manage relationships with vendors and service providers
- Act as a conduit between technical teams and business stakeholders
- May provide out-of-hours/on-call support as required
Requirements
- Proven experience as a subject matter expert in operational infrastructure support(servers, storage, backup & recovery, SaaS/PaaS/IaaS, security services)
- Strong working knowledge of Azure/AWS cloud environments and associated tooling
- Experience with virtualisation (VMware, Citrix, Hyper-V)
- Automation skills using PowerShell, CLI, Ansible, Terraform, or similar
- Understanding of ITIL practices and enterprise ITSM frameworks
Industry & Delivery Experience
- Background in oil & gas or similarly complex, regulated operational environments (preferred)
- Experience working across the full lifecycle: administration, support, performance monitoring, maintenance, and continuous improvement
