Job description
This is a chance to shape what "AI-native" looks like in a global SaaS company, not just in theory, but in practice. You'll work on real challenges at scale, influence company-wide direction, and help define the future of our platform. At Pipedrive, this is not about using AI as a tool. Our ambition is to become truly AI-native, where AI is embedded into how products are built, decisions are made, and value is delivered. In practice, this means embedding AI into core product workflows and decision-making, augmenting internal systems (e.g., developer productivity and support), and building agent-based systems that drive parts of the product experience. As a Staff Software Architect, you'll define and drive the architecture behind this shift, working hands-on with LLMs, agentic systems, and modern AI infrastructure to turn strategy into scalable solutions. You can be based anywhere in the EU. We have engineering hubs in Lisbon, Tallinn, and Tartu, as well as offices across Europe (Berlin, London, Dublin, Riga). If you're not located in one of these hubs or offices, we expect regular travel to stay closely connected with teams and leadership.
Your new adventure:
- Define and drive Pipedrive's architecture as we evolve into an AI-native platform
- Embedding AI into core product workflows (not just standalone features)
- Evolving the current architecture to support agentic systems
- Design scalable AI/ML systems, including LLM and agentic architectures
- Scaling LLM usage reliably and cost-effectively across multiple products
- Turn product strategy into robust, future-proof technical solutions
- Lead architectural alignment across teams through our Architecture Guild
- Partner closely with Product, Data, and Engineering leaders
- Drive hands-on experimentation and validate new approaches
- Ensure high standards across reliability, security, and scalability
Requirements
- You already work in an AI-native way, not just experimenting but delivering real impact
- Proven shift from basic or assisted AI usage to fully AI-native execution
- Experience driving AI adoption across a company, not just defining the strategy
- Hands-on experience with AI agents or similar systems in production
- Strong focus on execution and outcomes over pure leadership or delegation
Does this sound like you?
- Experience at the Staff/Principal/Architect level in a SaaS or engineering-heavy environment
- Strong background in distributed systems and cloud-native architecture
- Experience with AI/ML platforms, LLMs, and modern data infrastructure
- Track record of building scalable systems and driving adoption
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and work across teams
- Strong communication skills in English
