Machine Learning Engineer (AI Platform)

In this role, you will design, build and operationalise machine learning models and AI-driven solutions that run on our global data and AI platform, supporting our Workforce-as-a-Service (WaaS) strategy.

Your impact

As a Machine Learning Engineer (AI Platform), you play a key role in shaping how AI is applied across our global platform. You work on our Headless Data Architecture (HDA) - a scalable 9-layer architecture built on Databricks and Unity Catalog - enabling advanced analytics and AI use cases across Europe, the UK, the US and APAC.

You take ownership of the full machine learning lifecycle within the platform: from data preparation and feature engineering to model deployment, monitoring and iteration in production. Working with both predictive models and generative AI, you develop solutions that directly impact core business capabilities such as talent matching, candidate scoring and operational intelligence.

A key part of your role is translating experimental AI use cases into production-ready platform capabilities. You evaluate models, validate hypotheses and ensure that only high-quality, reliable and scalable solutions are deployed to the AI platform.

You collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Platform Engineers and stakeholders across the organisation to ensure that data pipelines, models and AI outputs are aligned, governed and fully integrated into the broader data ecosystem.

At the same time, you contribute to building a responsible and scalable AI foundation - embedding governance, documentation and compliance standards into the AI platform.

• Continuously improve model performance, scalability and reliability within the platform

Working with modern technologies such as Databricks, Mosaic AI and Unity Catalog, you help build and scale a shared AI platform that supports both operational excellence and product innovation.

This role offers a strong combination of hands-on machine learning engineering, platform-based development and exposure to strategic AI initiatives.

You are a hands-on Machine Learning Engineer with a strong technical foundation and a pragmatic approach to building scalable AI solutions on top of a shared platform.

• 3-5+ years of experience in machine learning, AI or data engineering roles
• Proven experience with Databricks (Mosaic AI, MLflow, Feature Store, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog)
• Strong Python skills (PySpark, scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow)
• Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering and RAG-based architectures
• Solid understanding of data modelling and medallion architectures
• Experience with ML lifecycle management, experimentation and model versioning
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for machine learning workflows
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with large-scale datasets
• Experience with monitoring and observability of models and pipelines
