Job description

Overview

We are seeking a highly capable Data Engineer to design, build and optimise scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions.

You will work closely with Data Architects, Data Scientists, Analysts, Product teams and business stakeholders to deliver production-grade data products that drive operational and strategic decision-making.

This is a hands-on role focused on modern data engineering, cloud platforms and DevOps-driven delivery.

Note: Must be eligible for Security clearance

Key Responsibilities

As a Data Engineer, you will:

  • Design, build and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines for healthcare datasets
  • Automate data flows to replace manual processes and improve efficiency
  • Develop reusable data engineering frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
  • Contribute to data quality, metadata and governance standards
  • Collaborate closely with Data, BI and Architecture teams
  • Ensure solutions comply with information governance, security and data protection requirements
  • Produce clear technical documentation for pipelines, models and processes
  • Apply DevOps principles including version control and controlled releases
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field
  • 3+ years (Mid-level) or 5+ years (Senior) experience in Data Engineering
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Python
  • SQL
  • Apache Spark (PySpark or SparkSQL)
  • Power BI
  • Experience building production data pipelines in cloud environments (Azure, AWS or GCP)
  • Strong understanding of data modelling, schema design and metadata management
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and version-controlled development practices
  • Understanding of data warehousing and ETL/ELT patterns

Requirements
