Job description
- Manage the programming and delivery of infrastructure projects outlined in the Infrastructure Delivery Plan (IDP)
- Support the delivery of approximately £300 million worth of infrastructure projects and programmes
- Maintain and update systems holding financial and project-related data, including data analysis
- Contribute to the review of the Infrastructure Delivery Plan (IDP) and Charging Schedule processes
- Prepare documentation and support statutory consultation requirements
- Facilitate governance and decision-making processes, including organising meetings and documentation
- Prepare income forecasting reports related to developer contributions (CIL and Section 106)
- Assist in securing funding to support infrastructure planning initiatives
- Promote the team's work internally and externally within the Council
- Manage multiple large-scale projects with significant budgets independently
Requirements
We are seeking an experienced Principal Infrastructure Planner to play a key role in delivering major infrastructure programmes. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in planning, infrastructure delivery, and financial/project data management within a local authority or similar environment., Must Have
- Degree or postgraduate qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Town Planning, Regeneration, Surveying, Business Management, Finance/Accounting)
- Substantial experience in planning, surveying, or infrastructure-related fields
- Experience working with Infrastructure Delivery Plans (IDP), CIL, and Section 106
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
- Experience handling financial data, reporting, and analysis
Desirable
- Eligibility for membership of professional bodies such as RTPI, RICS, or RIBA
- Previous experience within a local authority environment
- Knowledge of statutory planning and consultation processes, * Do you have hands-on experience with CIL (Community Infrastructure Levy) and Section 106 agreements?
- How confident are you in financial data analysis and reporting (e.g., forecasting developer contributions)?
- Please describes your experience with project/programme management of large-scale infrastructure projects?
- Do you hold a degree or postgraduate qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Town Planning, Surveying, Regeneration, Finance, Business)?
Experience:
- Infrastructure Planning: 2 years (required)
- local authority or public sector: 1 year (required)
- Infrastructure Delivery Plans (IDP): 2 years (required)
- Community Infrastructure Levy) and Section 106 agreements: 2 years (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Member of RTPI, RICS, or RIBA? (required)
