Job description

Job Title: DevOps Engineer (SC Cleared)

Contract: 6 months

Day Rate: To be discussed/negotiable depending on experience

Clearance: Active SC Clearance required

Experience Level: 6 - 15+ years

Opportunities: Multiple openings

Location: Hybrid - 2 days onsite (London, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Glasgow, Cardiff or Blackpool)

Overview:

We're working with a leading organisation delivering large-scale digital programmes within the UK public sectorand are looking to engage several DevOps Engineers to support delivery and platform teams.

These roles will operate across cloud-hosted environments, with opportunities to focus on delivery, platform engineering, or security-led DevOps, depending on project requirements and individual experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build, maintain and optimise CI/CD pipelines
  • Design and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
  • Support and troubleshoot live production environments
  • Work across AWS cloud environments to deliver scalable solutions
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve deployment, automation, and reliability
  • Operate comfortably within Linux/CLI environments

Essential Skills (Must Have)

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS
  • Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
  • Experience supporting live services/production issues
  • Comfortable working within Linux/command line environments

Desirable Skills:

  • Containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Configuration management tools (Ansible, Packer)
  • Monitoring and observability (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch)
  • DevSecOps or security-focused engineering
  • Platform or shared services DevOps experience
  • Previous experience within the UK Public Sector
