Job description

What you'll do
- Own the Order Fulfilment product for Greggs shops, leading the delivery of a new fulfilment solution that improves operational consistency, makes life easier for shop teams, and supports the growth of digital orders and partner integrations
- Represent the voice of our shop colleagues, regularly spending time in shops to understand workflows, challenges, and opportunities - turning this understanding into simple and effective product improvements
- Lead the end-to-end discovery process, from problem definition and requirements gathering through to testable hypotheses, user stories and acceptance criteria ready for development
- Prioritise work based on outcomes and evidence, balancing strategic roadmap priorities with live issues, operational needs, support trends and technical constraints
- Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring it is clear, emergent, estimated and well-understood by the squad - and maintain a roadmap that reflects both long-term direction and near-term delivery
- Set sprint goals and maintain delivery flow, partnering closely with engineering, UX/UI, analysts, QA, support teams and the Product Manager to move work efficiently from discovery to live
- Explore and apply the use of AI and automation whereappropriate -both within the products we build and within product-delivery processes-to improve discovery, insight, decision-making and delivery efficiency
- Use data and insight to guide decisions,leveragingoperational metrics (e.g., fulfilment accuracy,fulfilment time, adoption), colleague feedback and business KPIs to inform prioritisation and evaluate the impact of what you ship
- Define and track measures of success for new and existing features, ensuring we learn quickly, iterate, and focus on what delivers the greatest value for shops, customers, and the business
- Coordinate effectively with third-party delivery partners (e.g., Uber Eats, Just Eat) and internal teams (e.g. Retail Operations, Technology & Engineering, Digital) to ensure integrations are reliable and releases land smoothly
- Manage product risks, dependencies and constraints, escalating early and working with the right teams to unblock issues
- Drive operational readiness, supporting rollout planning, trial phases, training needs, shop communications and feedback loops to ensure new features are adoptable and understood
- Support operational resilience, partnering with internal support teams to analyse incident trends, understand root causes, and feed improvements into the roadmap
- Line manage one Product Analyst, supporting their development, providing direction, and helping them do their best work
- Champion continuous improvement within the squad - reviewing deliveries, learning from outcomes, and helping create an environment where the team can adapt, collaborate and thrive
Requirements
You will fit right into this role if you:
- Bring hands-on experience as a Product Owner or similar product-focused role, with a track record of owning a backlog and delivering valuable features in an agile environment.
- Are truly user-focused, with a strong interest in understanding how shop colleagues operate and what they need to work more easily, efficiently and accurately.
- Are outcomes-driven and commercially aware, able to balance user experience, operational performance and business priorities in a practical, grounded way.
- Are confident running structured discovery, facilitating workshops, mapping processes, identifying root causes and guiding stakeholders towards clear, actionable requirements.
- Have a data-led mindset, comfortable interpreting product and operational data, spotting patterns, and combining insight with qualitative input to make informed decisions.
- Communicate clearly and build trust easily, influencing without authority, balancing viewpoints, and bringing cross-functional teams and stakeholders along with your thinking.
- Comfortable experimenting with AI and emerging technologies - both as part of the products you help build and in how you work - to support analysis, communication and problem-solving, while applying sound judgement and strong product thinking.
- Thrive in a fast-paced retail environment, where priorities can shift quickly and real-world operational needs matter just as much as long-term product strategy.
- Work well with engineering and technical teams, understanding integrations,constraintsand the fundamentals of delivering robust, scalable systems - without needing to be an engineer yourself.
- Care deeply about operational reliability, recognising that shop-facing tools must be dependable,intuitiveand supportive of peak-time pressures.
- Are organised and able to manage multiple competing priorities, while keeping a focus on value,clarityand momentum.
