Junior System Engineer (Mandarin)

We are seeking a motivated Junior System Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in systems engineering, system architecture, and IT infrastructure within a collaborative environment. The successful candidate will assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining various systems to support organisational operations, ensuring optimal performance and security., * Assist in the design and implementation of system architecture solutions, including operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and VMware environments.

• Support the deployment and management of cloud services on platforms like AWS and Azure.
• Contribute to system administration tasks including configuration of DHCP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, and load balancing solutions.
• Participate in the development and maintenance of web services using REST, SOAP, APIs, and service-oriented architecture principles.
• Aid in scripting and automation through Bash (Unix shell), PowerShell, Shell Scripting, Python, and other scripting languages to improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate on the integration of containerisation technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker for microservices deployment.
• Assist with database management tasks involving SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server) and NoSQL databases like Cassandra or MongoDB.
• Support continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins, Git, and related DevOps tools.
• Contribute to information security initiatives by assisting with firewall configuration, VPN setup, vulnerability assessments, and security best practices.
• Troubleshoot system issues through debugging techniques across various operating systems and platforms.
• Document system configurations and procedures to ensure compliance with SDLC standards.

• A recognised qualification or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field.
• Able to speak Mandarin
• Has PSW Visa
• Fundamental understanding of computer networking concepts including DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, load balancing, and system security protocols.
• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is desirable.
• Familiarity with operating systems including Windows Server and Linux distributions; experience with VMware ESXi or Hyper-V is advantageous.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash (Unix shell), PowerShell or VBA for automation tasks.
• Knowledge of database systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server; understanding of NoSQL databases is a plus.
• Exposure to containerisation tools such as Kubernetes or Docker; understanding of microservices architecture is beneficial.
• Understanding of DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools.
• Knowledge of web services protocols such as REST and SOAP; experience with APIs development is preferred.
• Awareness of information security principles including firewall configuration and vulnerability management.
• Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues effectively.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
