Job description
The Technical Operational Authority (TOA) provides end-to-end technical ownership of customer network services throughout the life of the contract.
You will act as the senior technical authority for the network, owning the technical delivery model and working closely with internal supplier and resolver teams such as operations, design, vendors and service management to deliver a seamless customer experience., * Acting as the technical owner for complex customer network services, including WAN, LAN and IP-based connectivity.
- Assessing complex in-life change requests, evaluating impact to existing network architecture, resilience, performance and security, and providing technical concurrence.
- Owning, approving and implementing configuration changes across supported network infrastructure.
- Ensuring changes align with agreed network design principles, standards and service levels.
- Attending customer Change Advisory Boards where required, providing clear guidance and challenge on network-related decisions.
- Supporting incident escalation and problem management by providing deep network-level analysis and authority.Working across the full service lifecycle, including transition, in-life service and transformation activities.
Requirements
- 5+ years working in a service provider or systems integrator environment as a senior network engineer.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of enterprise and carrier-grade network technologies including routing and switching.
- Proven experience operating and supporting complex IP networks in a live service environment.
- Strong technical knowledge in areas such as:
- WAN technologies including MPLS, IP VPNs, Internet and Ethernet services.
- LAN and campus networking, including switching, VLANs and wireless integrations where applicable.
- Core routing and IP protocols such as BGP, OSPF and ISIS.
- Network resilience, high availability design and traffic engineering.Network management, monitoring and fault management systems relevant to large-scale networks.
Additional desirable experience:
- Working across the service lifecycle, including support to bids, solution design or service costing as a network subject matter expert.
- Experience influencing service improvement and network transformation initiatives.
- Ability to translate complex network concepts into clear, customer-facing communication.
- Vendor experience with common network platforms such as Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, Arista or equivalent.
