Job description
We're looking for an experienced application professional to deliver high-quality solutions across a defined application domain, working hands-on across the application lifecycle. The role focuses on configuring, integrating and optimising a balanced portfolio of bespoke and off-the-shelf applications to meet agreed business needs.
You'll support implementation, testing and third-line support activities in line with SLAs, working closely with stakeholders to ensure applications are secure, resilient and fit for purpose, covering areas such as controls, data migration, user administration and disaster recovery, and aligned to wider technology strategy and architecture.
What you'll be doing
You will take ownership of assigned work from design through to deployment, actively managing risks, issues, timescales and quality. This includes delivering regular releases, supporting small projects as a solution lead, and working with internal teams and external partners to ensure outcomes meet defined requirements. A key part of the role is translating business needs-sometimes loosely defined-into clear, practical application solutions, supported by detailed documentation and thorough unit and integration testing. You'll also play a key role in transitioning new solutions into production, ensuring operational support teams are fully equipped to maintain and support them.
Requirements
To be successful, you'll bring a solid background in application development, experience delivering IT systems projects, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams concurrently. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with an understanding of integration across complex application portfolios and the impact of solutions on deployment and support costs. You'll be comfortable working in hybrid teams that include business colleagues and third-party suppliers, able to plan and prioritise effectively, and confident contributing technical expertise within a nominated domain. Exposure to project planning, solution design, risk management and workshop facilitation will be key, along with a continual interest in emerging technologies and best practice. While not mandatory, the role operates within a global environment and may involve occasional travel and external engagement.
