They want a seasoned Azure-focused Software Engineer who can design, build, and implement cloud-based solutions that automate processes, integrate systems and improve performance across the business. You'll have strong hands on experience in Microsoft Azure, supported either by the Microsoft Certified Azure Developer Associate (AZ 204) qualification or equivalent practical expertise.
This role involves working closely with architects, analysts and wider stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable and efficient cloud applications, while also improving performance across the organisation's systems landscape.
The organisation is looking for someone with excellent communication skills who can explain technical concepts to non technical audiences, while demonstrating strong problem solving ability and a genuine passion for building well engineered cloud solutions. You should be comfortable collaborating within a fast paced team environment, yet equally confident working independently when required. A growth mindset, attention to detail and commitment to producing high quality work are essential traits.
This position is offered at high Mid-Level or Senior so the progression opportunities are very realistic for someone wanting to push towards Lead level and then to be involved in architecture/mentoring.
What you'll need to succeed We're looking for 5+ years hands-on experience as a .Net Developer working commercially with C# and Azure.
Depth of knowledge in Azure is crucial, extending to use of Azure Functions, App Services and API Management App services. Experience using Azure monitoring tools to optimise performance is also essential.
You should have good experience building / integrating API's and pushing CI/CD pipelines using GIT in an Agile environment and will have a strong command of the entire SDLC.
The position also demands strong SQL capability across platforms such as MSSQL, PostgreSQL and Oracle, together with a solid understanding of cloud security best practice and the ability to apply it effectively.
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or another STEM discipline, or bring equivalent commercial experience.
Bonus skills would be work experience within Utilities or closely related sectors such as energy or telecommunications.
