Job description

  • Working on the shop floor to gain experience with products and systems
  • Receive training from the Design / Engineering department on various control systems
  • Testing new, repaired and rental equipment
  • Recording results, identifying faults and completing reports
  • Carrying out repairs, upgrades and maintenance
  • Providing technical support to customers and internal teams
  • Attending customer sites in the UK and overseas when required
  • Supporting the development of new control systems
  • Liaising with production and engineering departments
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and continuous improvement

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed
  • Maintaining quality and ISO9000 standards
  • Identifying training needs
  • Travelling to meetings, site visits and inspections. This requires the possession of a valid driving license and passport.
  • Representing the company to a high standard when dealing with customers

Requirements

  • 2-3 years' experience in a similar Test Engineer role
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Understanding of single-phase and three-phase systems
  • Experience using testing equipment such as Fluke and Meggers
  • Good communication skills and a proactive approach
  • High attention to detail and methodical working style
  • Basic IT skills including Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Full UK driving licence and passport required
  • Work requires local and international travel
  • You may be required to work occasional evenings and weekend

Successful candidates must have experience in a similar role and be flexible to work. You will be working in a high pressure, fast paced environment so ideally you will be able to prioritise your workload effectively. You may be expected to train staff on site. Candidates will have knowledge of health and safety requirements in a production and manufacturing environment.

Benefits & conditions

  • Starting salary of £35,500 - £36,000 per annum
  • Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 4pm
