Job description

Software Engineers will be responsible for assisting in the design, build, test, maintenance, and supporting of our internal applications. As a team member of the Payzone Engineering Team this role will provide both operational support for existing applications plus delivering new applications and services as we modernise out trading platforms, improving them for postmasters, retailers and customers., Our commitment to embracing diversity extends beyond just words. Requirements

They will embody a culture of inclusion, continuous improvement, and high performance, with a key focus on delivery., * Proven experience collaborating with peers, colleagues, and stakeholders to contribute to the delivery of functional strategy to achieve business objectives.

  • Experience in establishing successful, cross-functional stakeholder relationships.
  • Demonstrable experience of leading on the delivery of project milestones to achieve key objectives.
  • Strong understanding of help desk support function, incident processes and service operations.
  • Analytical and innovative problem solving skills
  • Broad knowledge of core IT principles, including Microsoft operating systems, applications, networking, and mobile technologies.
  • Good understanding of phone system administration and support.
  • Proficient in using Excel for reporting and data analysis.
  • Working knowledge of SQL databases, including Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, and MySQL.
  • Exposure to cloud native concepts and Azure based hosting platforms (e.g., containerised environments, microservices).
  • Experience working with Unix/Linux environments, including executing commands from the shell and reviewing or updating scripts.
  • C# development experience is desirable.
  • Comfortable working with documentation, workflow, and collaboration tools such as Confluence, Jira, and Git for versioned technical artefacts.
