Job description
As Agentic UX Design Expert - Supply Chain Management (m/f/d), you will be a senior individual contributor in the agentic UX domain, working closely with UX leadership to shape, operationalize, and scale the agentic UX direction across SCM.
Your impact is not only measured by what you ship yourself - but by how effectively you translate strategic direction into actionable guidance, how well you enable teams to execute with clarity and quality, and how consistently you help raise the bar across multiple initiatives.
This role is for someone who has already mastered the craft of agentic UX and is now most effective when zooming out: synthesizing patterns, shaping strategy, enabling others, and holding the bar - across multiple teams at once. You are a trusted advisor to product leadership, a mentor to senior designers, and a connector who ensures that agentic design thinking scales beyond any single initiative.
You will build
- Shape and Evolve Agentic UX Direction: Contribute to and help evolve a clear, opinionated point of view on agentic experiences in SCM - covering orchestration models, trust, explainability, human oversight, and interaction paradigms - and translate this direction into practical guidance that product teams can apply.
- Enable Product Teams and Designers: Work closely with FDE squads, senior designers, and PMs to translate agentic UX direction into actionable design decisions. Provide structured feedback, unblock teams, and ensure alignment - without creating dependency.
- Build and Steward the Pattern Library: Own the growth and quality of the agentic design pattern library by codifying proven solutions emerging from product work. Ensure patterns reflect agreed direction and are documented in ways teams can reuse effectively.
- Track Execution and Design Quality: Maintain visibility across active agentic design initiatives. Identify risks, inconsistencies, and quality gaps early - and intervene with the right level of guidance to keep work on track without creating dependency.
- Shape SAP-Wide Agentic Design Thinking: Represent SCM's perspective in SAP-wide forums (AI UX Alliance, Project FX, Project AX). Ensure that platform-level decisions serve real SCM user needs, and bring relevant platform developments back to the teams who need to act on them.
- Mentor Senior Designers: Invest in the growth of T3 and T2 designers working on agentic UX - through structured feedback, design reviews, and sharing deep expertise on AI-native interaction challenges that most designers haven't encountered before.
Requirements
- 8+ years designing complex enterprise software, with at least 3 years of hands-on work on AI-powered, autonomous, or agent-driven experiences.
- Deep mastery of the agentic UX problem space: you have real experience with human-in-the-loop design, trust calibration, escalation flows, explainability, goal delegation, and confidence signaling - and you can teach it clearly to others.
- Proven ability to drive quality and consistency across multiple teams: you've worked in a cross-functional advisory or principal IC capacity, and you know how to influence design quality without being the one doing the design.
- Strong strategic communication skills: you can distill complex design strategy into crisp frameworks, principles, and guidelines that product teams and designers at different levels can understand and apply.
- Experience mentoring senior designers: you've invested in the growth of experienced designers and know how to give feedback that elevates work, not just corrects it.
- Ability to track and assess execution across initiatives: you are organized, proactive, and comfortable holding design accountability across a portfolio of parallel workstreams.
- Familiarity with SAP's AI ecosystem is a strong plus: knowledge of Project FX, GenUI, Horizon design system, or SAP Business AI significantly accelerates your effectiveness in this role.
- Excellent facilitation and written communication: you run effective design reviews, write clearly, and can represent SCM's design perspective confidently in senior forums.
