Job description
Currently they seek a multi-skilled M&E engineer with experience working within and around critical services plant, and based at one of their flagship data centre customers in the Farnborough, Hampshire area. This is a resident-based role, working Monday to Friday, and delivering planned & reactive maintenance to electrical, mechanical and general HVAC/building services systems. Guideline salary for this position is up to £47,000 for the right individual, while the role will also incorporate a call-out rota which equates to circa £5/6k additional payment over the course of the year.
If successful this role will involve;
· Act as the primary engineering subject matter expert for both client and internal teams for site · Perform planned and reactive engineering work, including daily, weekly proactive tasks, alarm response, fault finding, maintenance, repairs, and modification of equipment relating to, electrical, mechanical systems and equipment · Supervise all operational and maintenance activities, to ensure work is executed in safe and suitable manner and complies with SLAs · Be Responsible for technical service delivery governance, including audit, within a common toolset on your site · Aid TSM, Operational services and sales team in identifying and supporting new sales opportunities., · Assist technical manager in the setting, implementing, and applying existing and new technical standards, policies, and best practice for site · Customer focused service, being the customers teams go to engineering SME · High standard of planned preventative and reactive maintenance · Maintenance of critical electrical and mechanical equipment · High level understanding of the data centre environment · Proactive involvement in the on-going technical evaluation of all plant and equipment, suggestion of improvements where appropriate.
Compliance · Accurate recording and reporting of maintenance activity to ensure CMMS system is correctly updated · Manage access control and security measures. · Ensure the fire protection system is active and take necessary actions. · Maintain and coordinate site records to meet compliance requirements. · Attend vendor meetings to discuss services and address any issues.
Day to Day · Perform daily/weekly/monthly checks and site inspections of the building and alarms. · Coordinate and lead preventative maintenance tasks and vendors, as well as lead repairs and corrective maintenance efforts. · Collaborate with internal and client team members on major repairs and develop procedures for their execution. · Coordinate and perform switching activities. · Maintain workplace safety practices and adhere to approved MOPs · Ensure incidents are escalated and handled according to protocols. · Assist with capacity management and provide support to other teams as needed. · Participate in Out of Hours call out rota for site and any others within contract portfolio · Other duties, as may be required by Management
Requirements
· Electrical Trade Qualifications (or Degree Qualified). · Team-first mentality and willingness to learn and develop on the job. · Engineering mindset and experience with BMS, UPS, STS, LV, HV,HVAC systems. · Keen interest in developing their technical ability with particular focus on electrical/mechanical controls · Industrial, data centre, or mission-critical experience · Experience of liaising with multiple disciplines to drive solutions to complex operational issues within a critical environment. · 3rd party vendor operational management
