Job description
- Work with the software development team to create products that align with company goals and support customer needs.
- Design and maintain test scripts that can be used to evaluate software from various angles, such as quality, speed, accuracy, and functionality.
- Analyse test results on numerous aspects of the software such as performance, errors, bugs, and usability.
- Execute test scripts to evaluate software and record data that illustrates where fixes may be necessary.
- Test cross-platform applications (iOS, Android and Web)
- Communicate the recommended fixes to the software development team along with documentation that backs up what needs to be addressed and how.
- Be a key player in enabling the development team to produce deliverable results.
- Interact with clients / product owners to clarify product requirements in relation to testing.
- Keep track of all testing stages and results.
Requirements
We are seeking a detail-oriented software tester to join our team and contribute to the testing of our cross-platform livestock management applications. You will be able to work from software requirements, prepare and run tests scenarios and analyse results. Working in an Agile, DevOps environment, you will work closely with developers and customer reps to ensure we deliver the required functionality.
You will need up-to-date knowledge of software test design and testing methodologies, a working knowledge of test techniques and familiarity with various software platforms. You will have excellent communication and critical thinking skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
Please note - this role can be undertaken remotely from home in the UK and occasional visits to our site in Somerset will be required. Applicants must reside in UK and have full existing authorisation to work in the UK. Applicants who live overseas will not be considered for the role., · Proven experience as a Software Tester or QA Engineer
· Knowledge of software test design techniques and testing methodologies.
· Strong analytical and logical skills.
· Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
· Good organizational skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
· Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Nice to haves, but not essential
- Experience of automated UI testing.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. Azure DevOps Pipelines)
- Knowledge of the Agriculture industry.
- Working knowledge of DevOps and familiarity of Agile processes.
- ISTQB or similar qualifications.
