Job description

We're a well-established global organisation in the telecommunications technology space, and we're looking for a mid-level UI/UX Designer to join our growing product team. You'll play a central role in shaping the visual and interactive experience of the apps we build for our clients; owning the design of intuitive, polished interfaces from concept through to dev handoff.

This is a fully remote role with real ownership and variety. You'll collaborate closely with our marketing and product team and hand in hand with the in-house Graphic Designer, working together across visual assets and brand execution to deliver great product experiences.

This is a hybrid designer role. While your primary focus will be UI/UX, we're looking for someone with genuine graphic design skills and a passion for it; someone who can function as a full-stack designer when the need arises. That means being able to take a product into a PowerPoint deck, or support brand execution without always relying on a separate resource. It won't be your main workload, but the ability and appetite to do it matters to us.

What You'll Be Doing

Product & Interface Design

  • Design user interfaces for client-facing mobile and web applications, from early-stage concepts through to polished, production-ready screens
  • Build and maintain component libraries and design systems in Figma, ensuring consistency and scalability across products
  • Create detailed, interactive prototypes that communicate design intent clearly to both clients and development teams
  • Collaborate with Product managers and developers to ensure accurate, high-fidelity implementation of your designs

Collaboration & Process

  • Work closely with marketing, product, and project stakeholders to understand client requirements and translate them into clear, considered design solutions
  • Partner with our Graphic Designer, briefing and directing visual asset creation to ensure design cohesion across all touchpoints
  • Collaborate with R&D throughout the full delivery cycle, seeing your designs through from concept to live app
  • Contribute to design critiques and reviews, helping to raise the bar across the team
  • Collaborate with product and marketing teams on new product innovation, contributing design thinking to early-stage exploration and client engagement; your work won't just live in live apps, it will help shape what we build next
  • Participate in user testing or research activities where relevant, using findings to inform and iterate on your work

Requirements

  • 5+ years of UI design experience, with a portfolio demonstrating strong, considered product and app design work
  • Expert in Figma, including prototyping, auto-layout, component architecture, and design system management
  • Comfortable working with prototyping tools to communicate interactions and design logic
  • A strong eye for detail; typography, spacing, colour, and hierarchy are things you genuinely care about
  • Experience building or contributing to a design system, with capability to lead the development of one, incorporating input from across the team
  • Familiarity with developer handoff workflows and an understanding of how your designs get built
  • Native to using AI-powered design tools to explore concepts, generate assets, and accelerate workflow; and a clear excitement to adopt new tools
  • A solid understanding of motion and animation principles, with the ability to define transitions, micro-interactions, and motion behaviour as part of the design spec
  • Some exposure to UX research or user testing methodologies is a bonus

Ways of Working

  • A self-starter who is comfortable owning their workload and making considered design decisions independently
  • A clear communicator who can articulate design rationale to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Collaborative by nature, with an ability to give and receive feedback constructively
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift and adaptability matters

Benefits & conditions

Pay: £28,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
