Job description

As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you design, build and maintain high quality data models and analytics products that enable self-service BI and data driven decision making across Enza Zaden worldwide. You translate complex business and strategic requirements into reliable, scalable data solutions and take ownership of their full life cycle.

In this role, you will:

  • Design, develop, test and maintain advanced data models and analytics products on the global data platform (e.g. Databricks, dbt, Power BI).

  • Lead complex analytics and reporting initiatives with a mid to long-term horizon.

  • Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to translate business needs into sound, scalable and well governed solutions.

  • Continuously improve data quality, reliability, performance and cost efficiency through effective lifecycle management.

  • Ensure data products comply with architecture, security and access management standards, in close cooperation with Architecture, Security and IT.

  • Contribute to user enablement, training and knowledge sharing, and functionally coach less experienced colleagues.

Your team, stakeholders and workplace

You report to the Analytics & Reporting Manager and are part of the Data Analytics & Reporting (DAR) team. You work closely with fellow analytics engineers, product owners, data consumers, SDP D&P colleagues and IT specialists such as architects and security experts. The role has a global scope and offers a high level of autonomy in an international, collaborative working environment.

Requirements

  • University working and thinking level (WO / Master) with 6-8 years of relevant experience in analytics, reporting or data engineering.

  • In-depth knowledge of analytics and reporting methods, data modelling and data transformations.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure (DP203), Databricks, SQL, dbt, Power BI, DAX and Git.

  • Proven experience with DevOps practices, including version control, testing and CI/CD for data products.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to align, influence and persuade stakeholders across departments.

  • A clear understanding of scalability, architecture principles and data platform lifecycle management.

  • A collaborative, team focused mindset with natural leadership and coaching skills.

You are comfortable working highly independently, take ownership of complex challenges and know how to guide others in using data more effectively. You think strategically, act pragmatically and help move the organization forward in its data maturity.
