Requirements

Ideally you'll have:

  • Strong experience developing backend applications, ideally with TypeScript or the ability to pick it up quickly
  • A solid understanding of event-driven systems and working with queues
  • Confidence working with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), particularly serverless technologies
  • Experience with database design, optimisation, and maintenance (SQL or NoSQL)
  • A passion for building high-quality software and solving real customer problems
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with an interest in mentoring and knowledge sharing
  • A proactive mindset and the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous or evolving environments

What will set you apart:

  • Some exposure to frontend development, such as React

You'll join the Kaluza Technology community, working on the Energy Retail platform, a scalable SaaS product supporting energy retailers and decarbonisation efforts. In this role, you'll build and maintain backend services using TypeScript, contributing to event-driven systems that power reliable, real-time features. You'll collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver customer-focused solutions, while taking ownership of services from design through to production. Along the way, you'll work with cloud technologies like AWS, optimise performance and data models, and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture.
