Job description

iRecruit are currently seeking an experienced IT professional to work as an Information Systems Officer for a dynamic and forward thinking company based in Grimsby. Currently undergoing expansion plans, there is a need for the organisations current information system to be upgraded and thus an individual with strong database construction and programming experience is required., As the IS Officer, you will be part of a small team and have responsibility for Information Systems within the company, which will include maintaining as well as implementing organisational wide changes to systems. As part of the organisations IS strategy, the company are creating a merged system/single place for all information and are looking to remove as many silo's as possible. The IS Officer will manage a range of complex projects and will have to gather knowledge on all internal pre-existing systems and work programmes to be efficient in delivery of projects to stake holders. Initially the IS officer will support with the delivery and roll out of the CRM system/ implementation. The IS Officer will also have responsibility for information asset management across all work programmes and teams, leading on all asset management systems and people process. This will involve putting in place a new information management system with new policies and procedures. Though generally not required to build systems from scratch, there will be a requirement for the IS Officer to understand this and have the ability to project manage contract work to get new systems built and manage maintenance contracts. Travel to another site occasionally may also be required. The Company Operating for nearly 30 years, the organisation operate within the fishing industry and have three offices across the UK. As a Non-departmental public body, they're in a position of both having secure, government backed funding whilst also operating as a private enterprise. The company pride themselves on their mission, which is to support both a profitable and socially responsible future for the Seafood industry. The remit of those they deal with within the fishing industry included everything and everyone, from fisherman and processors, to importers, retailers and food service provides. The business is operated and funded by a levy on the first sale of sea food products within the UK.

Requirements

· Good working knowledge of database systems is essential · Windows Server 2008 - IIS and AD · Microsoft SQL Server (2005 and above) · Project Management experience is essential · Experience of managing contractors · Understanding information management assets · Programming & scripting · Any languages - Visual Basic is essential · Willing to work with other languages · Server support · Virtualisation environment experience highly desirable · Microsoft Exchange
