Design Engineer

The Design Engineer role exists to work either alone or as part of a team to provide a service support function for the engineering and projects business. The holder will be a qualified engineer with a minimum of 10 years post qualification experience. They will have cradle to grave responsibility for overseeing the design, phase of turnkey/multi-disciplinary contracts.

The role briefly encompasses the following duties: -

Creating visual representations of structures and systems

Creating comprehensive outline layout drawings

Preparing sketches and measuring accessible equipment

Developing detailed layout drawings

Creating drawings using AutoCAD and or SolidWorks

Inspecting all designs for accuracy

Knowledge of drafting procedures

Knowledge of MS Office software

Skilled in solid modelling and 3D features

Find creative design solutions to problems

Present prototypes and designs to Customers and Project Managers

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/experience/ attributes:-

A qualified engineer with a minimum of 10 years post qualification experience in the design of industrial plants

Strong communication skills at all levels

Understanding of current legislation and practice relating to health and safety

Strong IT skills

Hold UK Driving License
