Data Engineer

Data Engineer - DV Cleared Hybrid - Manchester, Bristol or London Salary: £40,000-£75,000 depending on experience

SR2 is supporting a leading organisation delivering some of the UK's most critical government defence programmes, and we are looking for DV Cleared Data Engineers to join growing delivery teams.

These roles offer the opportunity to work on secure, high-impact programmes that support national capability, operational effectiveness, and mission-critical decision-making across the defence landscape. You will play a key role in designing, building and maintaining data solutions that underpin complex government environments, working alongside multidisciplinary teams across delivery, engineering and architecture.

This is an excellent opportunity for data engineers who want to apply their technical expertise in ETL, data warehousing and data pipelines within highly secure environments, while contributing to work of genuine national importance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain ETL pipelines and data workflows
• Develop and optimise data warehousing and integration solutions
• Support secure, scalable cloud-based data platforms
• Process and transform large volumes of structured and unstructured data
• Integrate data from multiple sources for operational and analytical use
• Work with engineers, architects and stakeholders to deliver reliable data solutions

Skills & Experience

• Active DV Clearance
• 2-10 years' experience in data engineering, ETL, data warehousing and pipeline development
• Hands-on cloud experience with AWS, Azure or GCP
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with large, complex datasets
• Experience with tools or languages such as Python, Java, Scala or Spark
• Previous experience in government, defence, or other secure environments is beneficial
