Job description

Cloud Consulting have an urgent requirement for an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to work on a high-profile project for a leading government department.

The role is a hybrid one - 1 or 2 days on-site in Croydon, and 3 or 4 days remote, and is outside of IR35.

You should be SC and NPPV3 cleared.

As a DevOps Engineer, you will:

  • Build and automate secure AWS environments following best practices
  • Drive DevOps culture-collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement
  • Support multidisciplinary agile teams and remove delivery blockers
  • Lead workshops, manage technical escalations, and champion servant-leadership
  • Deliver highly available, secure, and scalable cloud platforms

Key Skills & Experience (Essential)

5+ years with AWS services (EC2, RDS, Aurora PG, VPC, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS, etc.)

Strong Terraform experience

Proficiency in Linux, Docker, and Amazon Linux 2023

Solid Jenkins + Groovy pipelines experience

Strong Scripting (Shell, Python, PowerShell, Perl, Java)

Strong PostgreSQL admin, performance tuning, HA, replication, backup/DR

Experience in 24/7 production AWS environments

Monitoring tools: Grafana, Prometheus, Alert Manager

Git, Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow

Strong troubleshooting & root cause analysis skills

SC Cleared and UK-based for duration of the programme
