Job description

Rights and responsibilities associated with this position: ¿ Training of new employees. ¿ Distribution of knowledge within the team and maintenance of the internal Wiki. ¿ Self-reliant scheduling of events with customers and planning of trips to fulfill the IT services. ¿ Self-responsible implementation of new orders and activation of purchased IT services at customer systems. ¿ Recording and documentation of the personal tasks that are created to implement the IT services. ¿ Documentation of certain activities, such as backup system check reports, which are made available to the customer. ¿ Cooperation with other teams and departments for the analysis, evaluation and resolution of identified problems as well as for the coordination of planned activities.

Duties and responsibilities Basic ¿ Independent further education of new KNAPP internal technologies regarding IT platform and used software and hardware components. ¿ Documentation of relevant information (e.g.: process descriptions or troubleshooting) in the team-internal knowledge management tool. ¿ Training of new employees and knowledge transfer to other team members. ¿ Presentation of IT services to customers and support of the contract and sales team with IT service related questions.

System Monitoring & Capacity Management ¿ Installation of new plants in the monitoring tool o Determination of the installed software and hardware components and assignment of all required and relevant checks. o Creation of new checks, if necessary in consultation with the corresponding support or development team. o Transfer to the appropriate hotline groups for final activation. ¿ Troubleshooting in case of faulty checks and corresponding complaints by the hotline as well as support and maintenance of the checks. ¿ Continuous further development of possible checks in the form of new checks and monitoring of new components (also in consultation with the relevant specialist departments). ¿ Preparation and documentation of Capacity Management Reports for customers, who bought this service, as well as trend analysis and interpretation of the displayed evaluations along with (pro-)active troubleshooting and Problem Management. Backup System Check ¿ Self-reliant planning and preparation of the on-site inspection in consultation with the customer. ¿ Comprehensive preparation of the backup system check for execution according to the currently valid protocols. ¿ Training with the customer's technician so that he can fulfil his duties regarding the maintenance of the server IT and the execution of special tasks according to the current KNAPP IT standards (eg creation of system backups). ¿ Provision of suggestions for solutions to avoid problems found. ¿ Execution of the backup system check on the basis of the currently valid HA test protocol. ¿ Documentation of the performed tests and checks and provision of the final report in GER/ENG for the customer. Update Service ¿ Determination of the necessary update packages by the specialist department. ¿ Planning and scheduling for installation on the customer system according to the current KNAPP change management process. ¿ Execution of the installation of the platform update packages with corresponding backup & restore options.

Requirements

¿ Knowledge of the Knapp service portfolio and the most important components of Knapp installations (software / hardware). ¿ Strong skills in self- and task-organisation. ¿ Specialized knowledge regarding server and network administration. ¿ Self-assured navigation in the Linux environment on an expert level.

Emotional requirements ¿ Excellent verbal and written communication skills (German, English) ¿ Self-motivated and a proactive approach to problem solving and self organisation ¿ Proven organisational skills ¿ Customer focused ¿ Able to deal with any conflicts and to provide viable solutions, deal with issues and resolve them diplomatically
