Job description
We are looking for a Senior Database Administrator with strong expertise in Oracle and hands-on experience across modern database platforms and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will design, operate, and optimize highly available and secure database systems supporting mission-critical workloads, while driving automation, standardization, and collaboration within Agile teams. Responsibilities: · Design, maintain, and scale Oracle environments, covering architecture, schema structuring, performance tuning, and operational best practices. · Implement and operate HA/DR solutions to ensure compliance with defined RTO/RPO objectives and support business continuity. · Diagnose and resolve performance issues, conducting SQL and instance tuning, optimizer analysis, and workload optimization. · Ensure database security and compliance, including encryption, auditing, access controls, and secure network configurations. · Automate operational workflows (provisioning, patching, backup/restore validation, lifecycle management) using Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD practices. · Set up monitoring, observability, and operational dashboards, defining SLAs, alerting mechanisms, and creating clear runbooks for support teams.
Requirements
· Advanced Oracle knowledge: deep understanding of architecture, performance tuning, optimizer behavior, and schema design. · High Availability & Disaster Recovery: experience with designing and operating resilient configurations and recovery strategies. · Security & Networking: hands-on with privilege management, encryption, TLS, and regulatory/audit compliance. · Automation & DevOps: experience with IaC, CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and Python for scripting/automation. · Cloud Integration (AWS preferred): working with EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, DMS, or similar services for hybrid or migration scenarios. · Cross-platform familiarity: operational knowledge of PostgreSQL and MongoDB, applying comparable HA, tuning, and backup principles.
