Job description
We're looking for an experienced Platform Engineer to help design, build and optimise secure, scalable AWS platforms. This is a hands-on role working closely with engineering, architecture and product teams to improve automation, reliability and software delivery across the organisation.
What you'll be doing
- Design, build and maintain reliable and reusable platform solutions on AWS
- Monitor, manage and optimise cloud infrastructure and container platforms
- Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
- Collaborate closely with development teams to enable smooth deployments and operations
- Provide engineering insight to architecture and strategy teams
- Produce documentation and operational procedures for platform services
Key skills & experience
Essential
- Strong experience as a Senior Platform Engineer
- AWS cloud experience and containerisation (Docker & Kubernetes)
- CI/CD pipeline automation using Jenkins and/or GitHub Actions
- Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation or Terraform
- Hands-on CloudFormation Scripting, troubleshooting and debugging
- Python Scripting and troubleshooting experience
- Jenkins multibranch pipelines and Groovy Scripting
- Linux command line and troubleshooting web services
- Experience working closely with engineering and product teams
- Passion for automation and improving software delivery
Nice to have
- Experience with Chef
- Experience working in highly collaborative, cross-functional teams
- Strong documentation and communication skills
