Job description

We're looking for a hands-on Platform / DevOps Engineer with deep experience running production workloads on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE). This role is for someone who enjoys building, automating, and operating cloud-native platforms - not just designing them.

You'll own Kubernetes infrastructure end to end: provisioning, CI/CD, deployments, service mesh, and day-to-day operations in a modern GCP environment.

Responsibilities:

Design, build, and operate GKE clusters in production environments

Automate cloud infrastructure on GCP using Terraform

Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Kubernetes-based deployments

Implement and manage Istio service mesh for traffic management, security, and observability

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience with GKE in production
  • Solid Kubernetes fundamentals (networking, RBAC, scaling, troubleshooting)
  • Experience working in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
  • CI/CD experience with Harness
  • Strong GitHub workflow experience (PRs, branching, automation)
  • Experience with Istio Service Mesh (traffic routing, mTLS, canary/blue-green deployments)
  • Deep understanding of containers and cloud-native architectures

Benefits & conditions

£500 per day - 6 Month Contract
