Solution Architect (AWS & Databricks) - Contract
Location: UK/Europe (Fully Remote) Rate: £470 per day (UK - Outside IR35) Contract
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect with strong expertise in AWS and Databricks to join a high-performing team delivering complex, cloud-based solutions. This is a fully remote contract opportunity, working on large-scale transformation initiatives within a regulated environment.
You will play a key role in designing and delivering scalable, secure, and high-performing architectures, with a focus on cloud migration and cloud-native solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end solution architecture design across AWS environments
- Design and deliver cloud-native and cloud migration solutions
- Produce high-quality architecture documentation (HLDs, LLDs, design artefacts)
- Work closely with stakeholders to define requirements and gain design sign-off
- Ensure solutions meet security, networking, and governance standards
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure successful deployment on AWS
- Provide architectural guidance across Databricks-based data platforms
Required Experience
- Proven experience working as a Solution Architect (essential)
- Strong, hands-on expertise in AWS (Amazon Web Services)
- Demonstrable experience with Databricks
- Deep understanding of:
- AWS Security (IAM, policies, governance)
- AWS Networking (VPCs, subnets, connectivity)
- Experience delivering:
- Cloud migration projects
- Cloud-native architectures
- Strong infrastructure background, including on-premise and hybrid environments
