Job description

During your time with us, you will help us shaping our European power, hydrogen, gas and carbon analytics and develop insight into the European energy commodity markets. As a student at ICIS, you will work on your own project, develop your own ideas and you will contribute significantly to our products. To do so, you will work together with our experienced analyst team to receive support and to have challenging discussions about your project and analysis.

We offer our students a high degree of flexibility also related to your university schedule - you can organise your working hours independently.

As a leading research and prognosis provider we have access to a wide range of data and optimization tools. Furthermore, we have highly skilled analysts that help you get started and provide valuable insights and a steep learning curve.

Depending on your interests you can choose a focus area: 1) supporting our power trading analysis and modelling 2) our long-term power and renewable investment proposition. On top, we will select your individual project based on your skills and interests. This could be for example creating trading strategies, modelling build out plans for heat pumps, batteries and EVs or work on our model infrastructure., * Development of new tools, features and later also models, using state-of-the-art data science methods (also using AI if needed)

  • Understanding the wider energy complex consisting of power, gas, carbon, coal, hydrogen and ammonia markets
  • Supporting the analyst team in the day-to-day business, analyzing the market, running the fundamental model, operations
  • Implementation of model results on our client-facing EU analytics portal

Requirements

  • Affinity and basic understanding of energy markets
  • Some coding skills be it Python, C++, Java, GAMS, HTML, SQL, …
  • Analytical mindset, critical thinking, and solid numerical ability
  • High level of interest in learning new modelling techniques
  • Good communication skills in English as you will work in an international environment
