Backend Engineer JimdoPay

We're building JimdoPay-an integrated payment solution that enables solopreneurs with a complete list of payment capabilities, from payments to smart transaction management and many more. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll join our team at an early stage and help shape key features like embedded payments, link-to-pay, and smart quoting tools. You'll work across backend to deliver secure, scalable services built on top of the best PSPs, all while collaborating closely with product, design, and engineering., * Build REST APIs with Kotlin or Java with a keen focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.

• Implement secure, performant integrations with payment APIs
• Design and build RESTful services and event-driven architectures
• Manage data storage using relational databases
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and testing automation

• 6+ years in backend software development
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin or Java
• Demonstrated expertise in REST API design
• Deep experience with PostgreSQL and transactional workflows
• Practical exposure to Stripe or similar payment platforms
• Experience working with Kafka or equivalent messaging systems
• Hands-on knowledge of Linux environments
• Background in application security and secure coding principles
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Cursor, Claude Code).
• Hands-on experience with Agentic Coding best practices, including leveraging AI agents to deliver end-to-end features
