What You'll Build

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll design and scale the core systems that make advanced AI workflows production-ready:

• High-performance backend services and APIs that power complex AI-driven platforms
• Large-scale data pipelines handling sensitive, high-value datasets
• Systems that deploy and monitor machine-learning models in real-world environments
• Enterprise-grade infrastructure where reliability, security and correctness truly matter

You'll work hands-on with modern backend architecture, make foundational technical decisions, and play a key role in shaping how the system-and the team-evolves.

What You'll Be Doing Day to Day

• Designing scalable backend services and APIs
• Building and optimising data pipelines and databases (PostgreSQL, Redis, async workflows)
• Working with event-driven architectures and message queues
• Partnering with ML engineers to productionise models
• Driving performance, reliability, and security across the platform
• Mentoring other engineers and raising the quality bar

• Strong backend engineering experience with a track record of shipping real systems
• Deep knowledge of Python and modern backend frameworks
• Experience designing scalable, reliable architectures
• Comfort working with databases, async systems, and cloud infrastructure
• A sharp engineering mindset: curious, opinionated, and pragmatic

A Computer Science or Engineering background from a leading university is valued-but intellectual horsepower, problem-solving ability, and drive matter most.
