Lead Cloud Engineer

As the Lead Cloud Engineer, you will have overall responsibility for the design, delivery, and optimisation of our self-service cloud infrastructure. You won't just be maintaining systems; you will be driving a culture of technical excellence and shared knowledge., * Strategic Leadership: Work alongside enterprise architects to set the target architecture and ensure all implementations meet Hackney's rigorous security and sustainability standards.

• Multi-Cloud Evolution: Continued development and maintenance of our AWS and Google platforms, focusing on automation to improve efficiency.
• Team Growth: Manage a team of Senior Cloud Engineers, providing mentorship to junior peers and fostering a high-performance, inclusive environment.
• Solution Design: Take accountability for large, complex cloud-based service solutions, balancing functional needs with non-functional requirements.
• Collaboration: Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, from the Mayor's office to third-party suppliers, ensuring cloud strategy aligns with the needs of Hackney's residents.

• Education & Certification: Ideally educated to degree level, with an AWS Solutions Architect or Google Professional Cloud Architect certification (or equivalent experience).
• Technical Mastery: Deep knowledge of cloud engineering, software development, systems integration, and security operations.
• Operational Excellence: Experience leading the migration of traditional IT services to the cloud and managing automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Governance: Ability to participate in Technical Design Authorities and Cyber Security governance groups to enforce robust cloud policies.
