Job description
- Design, maintain, optimize, and troubleshoot hybrid HPC systems, e.g. clusters and cloud, storage, and user interfaces, ensuring high availability and performance
- Implement and manage HPC-related software stacks (e.g. schedulers, remote access)
- Create documentation and guide researchers through project planning, development, and testing; encourage best practices in scientific computing, programming, and efficient HPC resource utilization
- Collaborate with research teams on interdisciplinary projects, provide technical insights and support in designing scalable, HPC-based solutions
- Contribute to grant writing, research proposals, and technical documentation to support HPC and funding initiatives
- Stay ahead of emerging HPC trends, tools, and architectures for our hybrid cloud stack, recommend improvements or adaptations in technology that align to academic teaching and research combined with required industry needs, * Monday to Friday

Requirements
- Academic degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of professional experience in the High Performance Computing field
- Systems: Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix, hybrid HPC approaches, and IT Infrastructure and applications
- Scheduling and tooling: Experience with cluster management tools and schedulers (e.g. SLURM), compilers, libraries, and user environments (e.g. JupyterHub, Open OnDemand); experience with Kubernetes and/or OpenStack is advantageous
- Programming: Proficiency in multiple languages such as Python and C++; scripting skills (e.g. Bash)
- Architecture: Knowledge of CPU and GPU architectures; experience with NVIDIA-based clusters
- Data and storage: Proficiency in data management and storage systems, including transfer protocols
- Teaching and mentorship: Ability to explain complex concepts clearly, to design and deliver lectures, labs, or workshops on HPC-related topics
- English skills on minimum level C1
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills; experience in working with internal/external project management teams and research groups is an asset
- Excellent interpersonal skills, customer service mindset, well-developed organizational and planning skills, able to advise, guide, and anticipate future trends
- Experience in higher education or public sector environment is a plus, * English C1, * Academic degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field
