Job description
As a Platform Engineer for the Operational Data Team for the Army, you'll bring your technical, and computer science, data analysis or science, and Engineering expertise to collaborate, design and build innovative Solutions at an Army Service Component Command in support of operations in Europe and Africa., You'll apply your expertise to assist in the design, testing and delivery of platform solutions that can be applied to strategic and operational requirements supporting exercises, training, and real-world emerging requirements. Solid platform development is a critical part of any program's success, and you know how to do it. As a platform developer on our team, you'll design and develop data integration platforms for projects and you'll work with customers to understand their mission, architecture, and security requirements. As a technical leader, you'll identify new opportunities to build platform-based solutions to help your customers meet their toughest challenges. Using your DevOps platform knowledge, you'll support your team as you inform strategy and design while ensuring standards are met.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a field such as platform engineering or SRE
- Experience designing, building, and operating IDPs or shared services platforms in an enterprise environment
- Experience with Kubernetes administration, including cluster lifecycle management, networking (CNI), storage (CSI), RBAC, and policy enforcement such as OPA, Gatekeeper, or Kyverno
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK for repeatable, policy-compliant environment provisioning
- Experience with GitOps methodologies and tools such as Argo CD or Flux
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline design and administration such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions
- Experience operating platforms in AWS GovCloud or Azure Government at IL4 or IL5 and scripting using Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Knowledge of cloud networking, IAM, ZTA, and security group or policy management
- Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree
Nice If You Have:
- Experience with Platform One, Iron Bank hardened container images, or Party Bus pipeline tooling
- Experience with secrets management tools such as HashiCorp Vault or AWS Secrets Manager in a DoD environment
- Experience with OSCAL, OpenSCAP, or automated compliance frameworks for continuous ATO
- Experience supporting hybrid, OCONUS, or tactically-deployed platform environments
- Experience supporting Army, NATO, or coalition mission systems
- Top Secret clearance
- Master's degree
- Certifications such as CKA, CKS, AWS Solutions Architect, HashiCorp Terraform Associate, or equivalent certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
