Job description
We're seeking a future team member for the role of Director, AI / Machine Learning Data Engineering to join our Trustee & Depositary (T&D) Engineering team. This role is located in Manchester, UK.
In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
- Act as IT Lead within a POD, owning end-to-end technical delivery and engineering excellence to drive T&D Modernisation initiatives.
- Provide technical and people leadership for a T&D Engineering group, building and leading high-performing AI / ML and data engineering teams.
- Design, build, and scale enterprise-grade AI, machine learning, and data platforms, including data pipelines and MLOps capabilities, fully integrated with enterprise master data systems.
- Define and influence broad-based technology strategy across large IT domains, embedding an AI-first and agile engineering mindset while ensuring scalability, resilience, security, and risk mitigation.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Machine learning?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Significant experience in software engineering, with deep expertise in AI, machine learning, and data engineering.
- Proven experience leading large-scale backend, data, or AI platforms in complex enterprise environments; financial services experience is a plus.
- Extensive experience with multi-platform development environments, modern cloud architectures, data pipelines, and integration with enterprise systems.
- Demonstrated ability to understand business impact and interdependencies of strategic IT decisions and to influence senior stakeholders effectively.
- People leadership experience, including leading senior engineers and technical leads in agile delivery models, mentoring talent, and fostering a strong engineering culture.
