Join Vantage Point Global on an exciting infrastructure assignment supporting a large, complex enterprise environment. We are looking for an Infrastructure Analyst with storage experience to join an established platform team, helping to keep critical services stable, secure, and available across a busy production estate.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, working in a live environment, and contributing to a team that supports core infrastructure services. You will be trusted to troubleshoot incidents, carry out technical changes, and improve the quality of support and documentation across the team. What you'll be doing
You will support the day-to-day management of storage infrastructure in a production environment, taking ownership of incidents and technical tasks while escalating to senior engineers where needed. Your work will include patching, storage allocation, backup configuration, scripting, and helping to maintain service stability across the estate. You will also contribute to team effectiveness by creating accurate technical documentation and identifying opportunities to improve processes., * Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents independently.
- Carry out technical tasks including patching, allocating storage, configuring backups, and maintaining scripts.
- Prioritise work effectively so high-priority activity is addressed first.
- Support the wider team with accurate documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Look for opportunities to improve team processes and procedures.
- Provide support and guidance to peers where needed.
Requirements
You'll need a solid grounding in enterprise storage technologies, along with experience working in a complex, high-pressure production environment. This role would suit someone who is technically capable, calm under pressure, and comfortable balancing BAU support with ongoing improvement work. Financial services experience would be helpful, though it is not essential. Essential skills and experience
- Experience with IBM FlashSystem storage technologies.
- Knowledge of replication methods such as Global Mirror, Metro Mirror, and Change Volumes.
- Experience supporting cluster management in Spectrum Scale, Oracle, and ESXi environments.
- Exposure to Spectrum Scale protocols including GPFS, NFS, and SMB within an active-active topology.
- Awareness of GKLM or SKLM.
- Understanding of how infrastructure changes can affect service availability.
- Experience provisioning and managing storage across a varied IBM storage estate.
- Comfortable working with Linux command line technologies.
- Experience managing tickets and workflow through ServiceNow.
Desirable skills
- Awareness of cloud technologies, particularly AWS.
- Knowledge of AWS server administration and platform features.
- Experience working in an Agile delivery environment.
- Understanding of VMware products including vSphere and vRealize.
- Awareness of Cisco UCS and HPE infrastructure.
- Understanding of virtualisation architectures and some experience supporting them.
